ON THE COURT: The Florida College Falcons are the 2015 USCAA Volleyball National Champions for the second straight year and their tenth title in program history. The Falcons did not surrender a set the entire tournament.
Rachel Tharp led the Falcons with 14 kills and 17 digs. 2015 USCAA First Team All-American and Player of the Year Savannah Gorman chipped in 10 kills to go along with fellow First Team All-American Abbey Rouch's 40 assists. Rouch led all tournament individuals with 11.82 assists per game while Gorman led the tournament with 3.88 kills/set.
St. Mary-of-the-Woods College entered this year's tournament as a first year program (since 1991). Their team consisted of eight players (the smallest in the tournament) and finished second overall. The Pomeroys were led in kills by freshmen McKenzi Kumpf (10). The outside hitter from Brazil, Indiana also contributed 17 digs in the losing effort.
Florida College led all teams in hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage, assists, kills, and service aces. The Falcons have won the USCAA Volleyball National Championship five of the past seven years, all under 2015 Coach of the Year Donna Parimore.
