ON THE COURT: #1 Florida College Falcons defeated the #2 Rochester College Warriors in three straight sets, 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-20) to earn the 2014 USCAA Volleyball National Championship.

Including this year, Florida College has been to the USCAA Volleyball National Championship in each of the past six years, winning in four of their six appearances.  Led by USCAA Player of the Year, Malea Kalina, Florida College recorded a perfect tournament record of 7-0 without losing a single set in this year's National Championship.

The first set of the match was the Falcons toughest challenge of the championship which featured four lead changes and six ties. Freshmen and All-Tournament team member, Lexus Medina, struck first with one of her six kills to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead.  Both teams battle back and forth but couldn't shake one another.  Each team's biggest lead was three with the Falcon's coming at a score of 13-10 and the Warriors at 18-21, in which time the Falcons were forced to call their second timeout of the set.  Following the timeout, the Falcons used a 4-0 run to capture the lead for good on their way to a 25-23 first set victory.

The Falcons dominant offense continued in the second set as they used two big runs to create a big lead that the Warriors couldn't come back from.  Led by the 2014 All-Tournament Team Most Valuable Player, Malea Kalina, the Falcons held a 10-3 lead to begin the set.  The Warriors fought back to get within four, 13-9, yet the Falcons rattled off an 8-1 run to take a commanding 21-10 lead.  The Falcons won the second set, 25-15, and took a 2-0 match advantage heading into the third set.

Again, the Falcon's dominant offense showed up early in the set as they produced a 6-1 lead to force a Rochester College timeout. However, the Warriors would fight back to tie the match twice, once at 11-11 and again at 16-16, but could never manage to take a lead. Following the 16-16 tie, the Falcons used a quick 7-1 run to increase their lead to 23-17 on their way to their fourth USCAA Volleyball National Championship in six years.

QUICK HITTERS:
