2013 USCAA Volleyball National Championship Bracket and Seeding Announcement

The USCAA has announced the field for the 2013 USCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship to be held at SUNY Canton on October 31st through November 2nd. The two-pool tournament will consist of five teams in each pool, with four of those teams from each pool advancing to the single elimination bracket.

For the first time in program history, the Marygrove College Lady Mustangs claimed the number one overall seed in the tournament. Marygrove will sit atop Pool A where they will be joined by defending National Champion Daemen College, the tournament’s #3 seed. Headlining Pool B will be the eight-time National Champions, second-seeded Florida College. Tournament host SUNY Canton will slot underneath Florida College as the #4 overall seed.

Joining Marygrove College and Daemen College in Pool A will be #5 seed University of Cincinnati-Clermont. The Lady Cougars will be making their eighth consecutive trip to the USCAA Volleyball National Championship. The seventh seed will be Carlow University, looking to rebound from a first-round bracket elimination in their 2012 appearance. Rounding out Pool A will be the Penn State University Athletic Conference champion, to be decided over the weekend. Penn State Fayette looks to be the front-runner after going undefeated in PSUAC play this season.

Pool B will include last year’s third-place finisher and this year’s #6 seed, Rochester College. The perennial championship contender will be joined by #8 Johnson and Wales University (NC), making their second consecutive appearance in the USCAA Volleyball National Championship. The #10 seed in the tournament and final Pool B participant will be Lindenwood University-Belleville, returning to the tournament after a one year absence.

Pool play will begin on Thursday, October 31st at 10:00 a.m., with 10 matches played on day one at both the Convention, Athletics, & Recreation Center and Dana Hall on the SUNY Canton campus.
